2 Zs divided by one Falls... or deep into (touristy) Africa

I flew from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe today.  Modern airport in VF, if customs seemed straight out of Argentina...(slow and possibly corrupt- they preferred cash to credit cards for some reason).  You might be in the heart of Africa, but VF has some very upscale hotels and lodges, not to mention a plethora of outdoor activities, from zip lines (been there, done that) to lion walks, to bungee jumping to Zambezi dinner cruises, to safaris, etc.  Of course, the Falls are the main event and you need no tour for those (the $30 daily park fee will do it).

My hotel is perfect for me- reasonably priced for VF ($85), centrally located (15 minute walk from the Falls) and quite nice, in a middle class sort of way.  However, if you want the genuine African experience, you need to stay at a luxury lodge on the Zambezi River for $500-1000/night.

Similar to SA, I ask each native I meet for any length of time, what they think of the recent regime change.  Similar to SA (where the ANC changed leaders and Presidents), I get the same response- 'Everyone is happy about it.  Hopefully less corruption. We will see.'

Took my helicopter ride over the Falls today.   Because of the mist and span of the Falls, you can see them entirely from the ground.  From the air, they are just spectacular and I can see why VF is considered one of the natural wonders of the world-

A lot of water moving over the Falls right now, as they are moving into their rainy season and it had rained quite a bit before I arrived. It was hard to get good pictures with the helo moving so fast and twisting, but it was great to see the Falls from above and different angles-

And one with famous bridge built by Cecil Rhodes in 1904 and still in active operation-

The helo also took us down the Batoska Gorge below the Falls-

We also saw fleeting images of elephants, zebras, wildebeasts, giraffes And, of course,  these guys were there with their handout-
