Spent 3 days in Burgundy on different arduous segments of the KV where the refreshment varied between rouge and blanc. Finding cheap digs in Burgundy is not easy, but I did find one available place-
Went by this vielle vignes in Chambolle Musigny-
Planted when Henry IV was king of France or over 500yrs ago. Good thing it had no Hugenot sympathies.
These cycling segments- one to the north from Beaune thru Aloxe Corton and Nuits St. Georges to Vosne Romanee (mostly reds) - and one to the south thru Volnay, Pommard, Meurseault, Puligny, Chassagne Montrachet to Santenay (mostly whites)- had some pretty vineyards and medieval villages-
And I enjoyed the Beaune market-
Pleasant weather (low 70s), safe cycling, pretty vineyards and good wine... well hard not to enjoy, tho I tried to cycle hard.
But did you get any free sausages???
